About 2019 Stolpman Para Maria Rose:
Para Maria Rose is a partnership between Solorzano and Stolpman families. 100% Syrah grape.

Bubbling ruby red grapefruit and red apple pop out of the glass above the energetic peachy glow. While 2019 Stolpman Para Maria Rose finishes dry, a light dusting of citrus fruit lingers through.
Growing Notes:
Second vintage in a row without harvest-time heat spikes. The acids were hanging even higher and fresher than 2018.
Harvest Dates: September 3 – October 2, 2019
Winemaking Notes:
Syrah sourced from a wide variety of Ruben Solorzano’s vineyards.
2 hours on the skin cold vinification, native fermentation. Fermented in stainless steel tanks at 55 degrees Fahrenheit. Held at 31 degrees Fahrenheit until bottling.
About The Winery:
In the late 1930s, teenage cattle rancher Anchor Johnson and his buddies landed their rickety plane down the straight chute where Roussanne is now planted. The young men would park the plane under the oak tree at the end of the dirt strip. Roussanne rows now run lengthwise along the old runway, creating the inspiration for the lanes on the Stolpman L’Avion label.
Over 20 years ago, Stolpman Vineyards Founding Partner, Tom Stolpman, discovered what he believe to be one of the greatest viticultural sites on earth. Hidden in the hills of California’s Central Coast, on a rare Limestone outcropping & unobstructed from the Pacific Ocean wind, this unique land is naturally suited to grow Syrah and Roussanne grapes. The winery is committed to preserving this natural environment for their vines through conscious farming, dry farming, & sustainable employment. In the winery, they prefer native fermentation & minimal manipulation.
Dedicated to sensible farming & winemaking, The Stolpman Team believes that they can create vibrant, site-specific wines, with a focus unique to Ballard Canyon AVA, California.
Vignerons Ruben and Maria Solorzano partner with the Stolpman family on two different projects.
Para Maria: Ruben cherry picks the fruit for red and rose wines from the dozens of Santa Barbara County vineyards under his farming control. Prior to this partnership, Ruben took this fruit for his Hecho Por Ruben label.
Sun+ Earth: Ruben and Maria’s vision of creating a next-level co-fermented Mourvedre blend came true when the Stolpmans gave the Solorzanos four acres of Limestone hillsides to plant their own estate vineyard.
Maria Solorzano heads day-to-day operations at Stolpman and there is a 50-50 partnership between Solorzano and Stolpman families in Para Maria Wine.
