While a touch fleeting, offers beautiful, lively notes of lemon peel, citrus blossom, brioche and a touch of peach in a medium-bodied, supple, lively style
Barrel Selection:
Aging was sur lie for 16 months in French oak; 30% new
Growing Notes:
The soils of Solomon Hills Vineyards are composed primarily of ocean derived sandy loams. Because it is the western most vineyard in the Santa Maria Valley appellation, it is the coolest of all vineyards in this growing region. With the Pacific coastline only miles away, a constant maritime influence results in wines of precise acidity, bright fruit and an inherent elegance.
Winemaking Notes:
The grapes were hand harvested at night, and whole cluster pressed. It was then barrel fermented with native yeast and malolactic fermentations. Aging was sur lie for 16 months in French oak; 30% new. This wine was bottled unfiltered.

The vinery is located six miles north of Paso Robles on River Road. The private hilltop Estate vineyard is situated in a notch, high on the west ridge of the Estrella River valley. Their red Bordeaux varietals are grown on well drained slopes of sandy clay loam with traces of limestone and river stones.
The winery also produces Burgundian style Pinot Noir sourced from highly acclaimed vineyards in Sta Rita Hills and Santa Maria Valley.
A native of Brittany, France and former Restaurateur, Roger Nicolas turned his energy and passion into growing grapes and producing premium wine. In 2003, Roger released his first vintage of RN Estate wines and has been crafting these sought-after wines ever since.
The Solomon Hills Vineyard was planted by the Miller Family in the late 1990’s. Known for pinot noir and chardonnay, Solomon Hills found its tenor early on in its relatively young life among a broad range of talented winemakers who found its vibrant, youthful flavor profile exhilarating, and, at times, profound.
The Solomon Hills Vineyards takes its title from neighboring hills named for Solomon Pico, a celebrated bandit who in the 1850’s traveled frequently along the stretch of El Camino Real that is known today as Santa Maria Valley.
