Introducing the 2017 My Favorite Neighbor Cabernet Sauvignon, a world-class wine crafted with meticulous care and dedication to the land. This exceptional wine is the result of a passion project that began as an homage to Stephan Asseo of L’Aventure Winery and his Bordeaux roots, and quickly became an obsession. The Westside Hills of Paso Robles boast clay soil that is remarkably similar to those found in Napa and Bordeaux, and these special sites are farmed with utmost care by the farmers who have become My Favorite Neighbors. The 2017 My Favorite Neighbor Cabernet Sauvignon boasts a medium to deep ruby color, and its nose offers a tantalizing array of aromas, including fresh blackcurrants, blackcurrant bud, exotic spices, bitter chocolate, and blue fruit hints, with classic touches of pencil shavings, cedar, and baking spice. On the palate, this full-bodied wine explodes with ripe black fruits and has a firm, grainy frame and great freshness, finishing long and spicy. Experience the exceptional quality and dedication to the land that is embodied in every bottle of the 2017 My Favorite Neighbor Cabernet Sauvignon.
What started as an homage to Stephan Asseo of L’Aventure Winery and his Bordeaux roots quickly became an obsession. Stretching wide across the Westside Hills of Paso Robles is clay soil amazingly similar to those found in Napa and Bordeaux. Today, these special sites are farmed meticulously by the farmers who have become My Favorite Neighbors. With their dedication to the land, MFN is able to craft a world class wine without any shortcuts or compromises.

Their 100 acre certified organic estate vineyard produces a myriad of different wines with an emphasis on Rhône varietals.
Cabernet Sauvignon contains 22% Syrah and 3% Petit Verdot and was aged in 75% new French oak. In the cellar, the owner’s job as winemakers is to uncover the vintage Mother Nature gave them and showcase the quality of the fruit. It may mean a soft winemaking touch to craft an elegant wine, or pushing the limits to create a beast. Regardless, the end goal is to produce legendary wines. Wines that over-deliver and are delicious. No arrogance, not confusing, only yummy.
At Booker Wines, the purpose is simple: to thoughtfully farm and craft world class wines that leave a small footprint but make a big impact. Their 100 acre certified organic estate vineyard produces a myriad of different wines with an emphasis on Rhône varietals. Booker wines are in limited production and often sell out to our wine club upon release.
The name Booker comes from the two orphan brothers, Claude and Dick Booker, who had purchased the land in the late 1920’s. By the turn of the century the Booker brothers had acquired over 1,200 acres on Paso’s Westside. They dedicated their lives to being great farmers and humanitarians, leaving 100% of their estate to charity when they passed, Dick in 1990 and Claude in 2000.
Eric and Lisa Jensen purchased 100 acres of the property in 2001 with the intent of growing the best fruit for some of the best wineries in the area. After making wine with Justin Smith (of Saxum) for five years and Stephan Asseo (of L’Aventure Wines) for two years the Jensens decided it was time to create their own expression with Booker Vineyard. The 2005 Vintage was Booker Vineyard’s first release with the wines being made by founder Eric Jensen. The vineyard received organic certification in April of 2021.
