About 2014 Justin Isosceles Reserve:
Justin ISOSCELES Reserve is built upon the exceptional quality and character of the Bordeaux grape varieties grown in Paso Robles. Justin Winery ISOSCELES Reserve 2014 has cellared nicely, gaining new layers of complexity, and revealing the wine’s true potential over time. This library release is perfect for those who appreciate the character and complexity of mature wine. You’ll notice that the wine’s primary flavors have become less dominant with aging, creating entirely new aromas and flavors to enjoy.
For more than 25 vintages, Isosceles has been Justin’s flagship wine and quality benchmark for this style of wine here on the Central Coast of California. A blend based on Cabernet Sauvignon supported by Cabernet Franc and Merlot, the 2014 Isosceles is a perfect example of what makes Paso Robles such a great place to grow these varieties.
Tasting Notes:
Beautiful nose light liquid silk on the palate with lovely mixed black fruit flavours with lovely acidity. Outstanding balance with deceptively long length.
Growing Notes:
Rich in fossilized limestone from eons of marine deposits, JUSTIN’s soil is ideally suited to creating big, Bordeaux-style reds. The limestone “stresses” the vines, producing grapes that fully express their varietal character.
Paso Robles’ distinctive microclimate offers the widest day-night temperature swings of any grape-growing region in California. The hot days allow the grapes to develop intense flavor, while the cool nights create great structure and balance.
Winemaking Notes:
The grapes are hand-picked and sorted by-the-berry for consistent quality and flavor. JUSTIN Cabernet Sauvignon is aged in traditional small oak barrels to impart depth and complexity, highlighting the exceptional balance of flavors and textures that the unique climate and soils of Paso Robles add to the classic Cabernet character in this exceptional wine.
Blend: 73% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc, 12% Merlot
